CEU students and WILDislands
On September 10th the new batch of master students of the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy at the Central European University together with faculty and staff spent a day exploring the Donau-Auen National Park and its WILDislands in Austria.
This was an excellent opportunity for the students, who come from all over the world and have diverse background and experience, to learn more about practical conservation and socio-economic aspects of the designation and management of the National Park. We talked about history, pressures and civic movements which inspired the creation of the Park, about its value and significance for biodiveristy, as well as the contemporary threats and cross-sector conflicts.
We hope we provided an excellent experience and a lot of inspiration for the start of the academic year and we are looking forward to continuing our cooperation!
