Today, 03.02.2025, as part of the DANUBEPARKS campaign to celebrate World Wetlands Day 2025, we are announcing the first 2 Pilot Measures, through which you can apply with your Project Proposals until 17.03.2025, 17:00 CET.

You can receive up to 100% funding in the following Categories:

Through Category RRI-1: "Identification, preparation and implementation of Restoration Actions in the Danube Region" for:

Engaging the local community and other relevant stakeholders in the planning of future restoration projects, joint monitoring programs for relevant species and habitats, securing necessary permissions and permits, preparing of technical design documents, feasibility studies and/or, implementation of the small-scale pilot actions

Or

Through Category RRI-2: „Awareness-raising events for the Danube WILDisland RRI“ for:

Materials that will be tailored to your individual needs (flyers, stickers, posters, etc.) and will address different target groups, where gaps of knowledge or target interest have been identified (wide public, experts, potential partners, etc.), event catering, transportation costs, materials for volunteers, other costs according to the event that are not staff costs or indirect costs

DANUBEPARKS hopes that the Measures will provide an opportunity to finance exactly your idea and look forward to your Project Proposals, which you can submit by filling out the following online forms:

Each applicant can submit 1 Project Proposal in each of the Categories, which means that The DANUBE WILDisland RRI Grant for practical pilot measures can finance you in 2 completely different directions at the same time.

The total amount of EUR 56,000.00 for both Measures is financed through The DANUBE WILDisland Regional Ramsar Initiative Grant for practical pilot measures with funding from BMUV and The Convention on Wetlands Secretariat.

The The Danube WILDisland Ramsar Regional Initiative is one of the major successes of the LIFE WILDisland project and ultimately aims at thejoint preservation and restoration of the Danube near-natural wild islands as the backbone of a unique Danube ecological corridor, connecting numerous protected areas, providing many indispensable ecosystem services and representing important destinations for genuine nature experience, recreation, and tourism. The RRI is formally hosted by the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) and coordinated by the DANUBEPARKS Association.
