General Information
This is an artificial island resulting after the cutting of the meander on the Sfantu Gheorghe branch. It was set up for poplar plantation on more than half of the surface after the cutting. On the edge of the plantation willows are present, along with other shrub species. In the middle of the island a narrow area was left in its natural state and it is dominated by reed and willows.
Conservation status: Biosphere Reservation
