General Information
Two Danube islands with mostly intact silver willow floodplain forest on the western and smaller of the two islands as an impoverished remainder of an originally extensive floodplain landscape on the Danube. The origin of this small island is underlined by fallen tree corpses. The eastern, larger island has a wet forest with a high proportion of poplars. The tree population shows a loose, hall-like structure. The herb layer is pronounced, nitrophilous and relatively species-poor. The bank is artificially fortified.
The islands are part of the landscape conservation area and are located in the Floodplain of the Danube. The islands form a breeding and resting habitat for birds.
