General Information
The island is part of a recently created Danube branch, which is broadly connected to the natural river on both sides. The arm is quickly flowed through and well overgrown with water cock foot. It has a variable transverse profile with large vegetation-free gravel banks, up to 2.5 m high, vertical, earthy banks and swampy flat bank areas, which are covered with small areas of flood grassland. The island forms a natural, structurally rich river biotope which can hardly be found today.
