General Information

The Danube shows wide meanders in the area. The banks vary the total width between 25 and 60 m. One side of the Danube shows a bank obstruction. The characteristic features of near-natural river sections are completely available. The current line oscillates clearly, simultaneously the flow velocity is a function of width and depth of the bed. Quiet, almost leisurely flowing sections change with greater depth of water with sections of rapid current and shallow water depths. Fast flowing current with shallow shores (gravel banks), favors the cane grass. Reed is also found together with stinging nettles in the embankment area.
