Socio-economic survey in Croatia

Kopački Rit Nature Park, Croatia organized a focus group of stakeholders and landusers in the Kopačevo Visotrs Center at the start of July.

This focus group comprised representatives of water, agriculture, forestry, navigation, fishermen, NGOs and scientific sectors, who expressed their opinions and attitudes related to nature conservation, management of the Kopački Rit Nature Park and the implementation of the LIFE WILDisland project.

This monitoring of the socio-economic effects of nature conservation and the implementation of this project is carried out simultaneously in 8 Danube countries. This is the first public opinion survey on nature conservation at international level conducted along the whole Danube. The results of the survey will provide data on the socio-economic effects of the project, as well as on improving participatory management.
