Good example for the dynamic development of islands through river restoration!

After the restoration of the Danube banks in Witzeldorf – implemented by the viadonau in the frame of the pilot project Witzelsdorf http://www.viadonau.org/unternehmen/projektdatenbank/top-aktuell/httpwwwviadonauorgfgp/pilotprojekt-witzelsdorf/ – this island was strongly resphaped by river dynamics. Today, the island is much smaller than before the opening of the groyne field, nevertheless, together with the shallow waters of high relevance as habitat for young fish.
