General Information
With the unprotected gravel banks and the riverbed rich in structures, the island forms a very natural structure.The Danube, shows an artificially regulated water flow. Rapidly and slowly flowing, shallow and deep areas alternate. In places, it comes to sweeping water formations.
On the island there is reed-grass which, like the gravel banks, is regularly flooded and are therefore exposed to strong mechanical stress.
