General Information
This is a vast natural island developed in the Chilia branch. More than half of the surface was set up for agriculture and the other part of the island was left in natural state. The rims of both parts are covered with willows and poplars. Inside the island, on the natural part, two lakes are present – Lake Zanarchin and Lake Marcu – both surrounded by willow and poplar mixture.
Conservation status: Biosphere Reservation
